Ian helps build the house
Ian is a fan of construction equipment, and is therefore very “helpful” on the job site.
Truss Art
Reminded me of looking through the structure of the Eiffel Tower. You know, but not as fancy. And way more expensive.
Trusses & Steel

Trusses & Steel
Originally uploaded by mdm.
After a 1-week delay waiting for the trusses to be delivered, we’re working again. As you can see, the steel ridge beam has been placed (necessary because of all the glass on the face of the house). The trusses are lying down on the top of the walls. The framers will flip each up into place one by one and secure them to the walls. Then they’ll do the “overframing”, which is the part where they add to the trusses on top to make sure that water goes where it should in the rain. Finally, roof sheeting, etc. But that’s weeks away still.
